Nuevo Casas Grandes, Mexico

After an incident involving clashes between American farmers and Mexicans on the border Vicente Cárdeñas rode to Nuevo Casas Grandes. There he spends most of his time when there are no assignments. Cardenas is a famous man there, wo is also feared by a lot of people. Francis Oury decided to visit Cardenas take him back to Arizona a little earlier. Cochise County got a bit more turbulent after a short rest. Recently there was a raid on a money transport that was traveling from Bisbee to Tuscon. Kenneth Gilchrist has already been arrested, but the other two offenders, Greg Lawrence and Edward Williams, are still on the run. Oury is reluctant to work without Cárdeñas,,so he asked Blake Winterburn and Ulyssess Stockwell to accompany him on his ride. Winterburn works as a scout at Fort Bowie and knows the area very well.

As Oury, Stockwell and Winterburn pause at a waterhole just before Nuevo Casas Grandes, they are suddenly surprised by a group of Mexicans. At first they thought about a raid, but when the Spanish-speaking Winterburn said to the Mexicans: "Estamos buscando a nuestro amigo Vicente Cárdeñas.", The situation calmed down. After they had to set aside their weapons for safety reasons, the group rode together to Nuevo Casas Grandes.

Vicente Cárdeñas says goodbye to Hector Hernández. He is the one who taught him to shoot and ride.

Numerous guards are set up around the town of Nuevo Casas Grandes, so that uninvited guests can be recognized early.

Cárdeñas‘ entire family lives in the city, so it was particularly important to him to ensure a high degree of security.

Alberto Águilar welcomes Francis Oury and apologizes for the behavior of his men. Vicente Cárdeñas tells Oury that he was not careful enough. If it had not been Águilar's men, it could have ended badly.

Águilar is a good friend of Cárdeñas and also his deputy. Both grew up together and trust each other. Oury tells him in great detail what has happened in the recent past in Cochise County and that he needs Cardenas' help.
