Fort Riley, Kansas

The stagecoach No.3 is on its way from Bisbee to Chicago. The most important stations of the route are Santa Fe, Denver, Des Moines and the final target Chicago. The coachman Forest Butler is secured by Wells Fargo man Daniel Dunn. On board are Dwight Senteney, the owner of Bisbee's "Rooms and Bath", and the US Marshal of Kansas, Gregory Carter.

Near Fort Riley in Kansas coachman Butler is watching some soldiers on their horses who are getting close to the stagecoach. The cavalry stops the carriage.

The cavalry has to look for members of the Dodson gang. Billy Dodson and his guys have recently raided a bank in Jetmore, Kansas. Because the robbers are still on the run and the sheriff offices have not received any useful information about their whereabouts, the US Army is now searching for them in Kansas.

The Scout Ulyssess Stockwell knows Billy Dodson and a few of his members. He supports the cavalry of Fort Riley.

General Gregg Porter talks to Butler and tells him why the ride of the coach has to be interrupted. Forest Butler says, "You think I'd hide some of the members of the group and take them to Chicago? This is totally ridiculous! I have no time for something like this. I have to hurry up!"

General Carter is surprised when he sees the disembarking US Marshal of Kansas. The second scout arrives and interviews with the general the US Marshal and another passenger, Dwight Senteney. Senteney is on his way to Chicago.

The soldiers check the private luggage of the coach. They want to know if there is a conspicuous number of money in it. Senteney makes an overbearing impression and is also annoyed now. He also can not understand why he is being reviewed.

Daniel Dunn takes the baggage out of the coach so the soldiers can control it. But they will not find anything. So the carriage will continue its journey.
