Since the carriage no.6 has been attacked, numerous lines are secured more specifically. Lowell Smith is actually based in the Wells Fargo Office in Bisbee . He is not only a good coachman but also a man who can deal with the gun, he agreed to help temporarily as coachman. He is accompanied by Ralph Dillon, a Pinkerton Dedective. Both welcome the arriving rider, Francis Oury.

At this station the horses are exchanged, letters for the surrounding places are delivered and new mail taken. Furthermore, three passengers are taken to Lincoln, Nebraska. Since the carriage stopped in Denver, it is traveling without a passenger.

When Oury ties up his horse, Dillon says quietly to Smith, he has seen the man before, but does not know what his name is. But Dillon believes he is a bounty hunter. Smith replies the stranger has a dangerous aura and he don't like men with a dangerous aura.

After Oury racked up his horse, he wants to ask the two men if they have more accurate information about the attack. He also wants to inquire about the two wanted men, Stubbs and Keogh. Lowell Smith enters the station, Dillon stays in front of the stagecoach.

Oury wants to ask for the information that is important to him, but the interrupting Pinkerton opens the question, "You're the man who got a big reward for "Knife "Kendrick and Pete Lanfield, right? I recently heard about the incident in Benson What's the reason for your journey to Wyoming ? " Oury tells him that he is looking for important information. When he calls the names of Stubbs and Keogh, Dillon only tells him that he has heard of these names combinet with the robbery but he had never heard about them before. He adds that nobody out of Coshise County did not asked any of the Pinkerton to look for the wanted men. It was only decided to prrotect the stagecoach lines. The problem now is to have more and more bounty hunters, who are coming into the city of Bisbee. If they do not pay attention, they end up hunting each other. The mayor Gifford has been very worried about the number of incoming men. There is a curious atmosphere in Bisbee. A few people think Bisbee isn't any longer safe, when there are only savages, who attack carriages in the area. Others think that the attack has not occurred. It is not easy to get a clear overview. To secure the city, the Marshal has been given numerous deputies. Gifford tries to give the inhabitants a sense of security. The Cochise County Sheriff Lockwood is now often seen there with his deputies too. Sure, in Bisbee, no one will try to risk something illegal any longer, he is absolutely convinced.

Dillon and Oury suddenly see a approaching stranger who is coming in their direction. The Wells Fargo employee asks how the stranger can be helped. The men answers grinning, "Just beware that these two men are not shooting at me, then I would be very happy. To face a Pinkerton and a heavily armed man is probably the most dangerous thing that could ever happen to me! Oury replies, "Pretty reckless words for someone who's on their own. "Isn't here any place for a little joke? I'm just passing through. I'm not looking for trouble." The stranger stops here. He and his horse also need a break.
